Some male students in the sophomore class of Westfield High School in New Jersey used an AI-powered website to generate pornographic images of their classmates using girls’ photos found online. One of the victims, Francesca Mani, who is just 14, has filed a police report.

‘At first I cried, and then I decided I should not be sad. I should be mad and should advocate for myself and the other victims,’ Mani told the Wall Street Journal. Her mother, Dorota Mani, told the publication: ‘I am terrified by how this is going to surface and when. My daughter has a bright future and no one can guarantee this won’t impact her professionally, academically or socially.’ […] ‘New technologies have made it possible to falsify images and students need to know the impact and damage those actions can cause to others.’ Asfendis said she believed the images had now been deleted and were no longer being circulated.

US bishops echo papal call for climate action. Pope Francis is scheduled to attend the upcoming COP28 climate summit in Dubai from Dec. 1–3, while the U.S. bishops’ conference continues to echo his call for climate activism. In a recent interview with Gian Marco Chiocci, the director of Italy’s TG1 television channel, Pope Francis offered his views on the significance of this summit. He noted that the upcoming summit serves as a critical juncture between the 2016 Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In fact, this year’s United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) marks the midway point between the legally binding Paris Agreement, which entered into force in 2016, and the culmination of Agenda 2030 and its globalist, socialist ideals seven years from now. During the interview, the Pope reminisced about releasing his ecological encyclical, Laudato Si, shortly before the 2015 COP21 climate summit in Paris. He shared his perspective, stating, “The Paris summit was the most successful. However, post-Paris, there was a collective retreat, and moving forward in this area demands bravery.” […] Throughout Pope Francis’s tenure, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has consistently echoed the pontiff’s views on an urgent need for environmental action and climate change mitigation. […] However, a contrasting perspective is being offered by the Deposit of Faith Coalition, a group dedicated to confronting the bishops’ Democratic-aligned agenda. Climatism is slowly dying, and the only remaining question, is how long it will yet linger and how much damage it will do before it is gone. Everything that comes out of Brussels is a foul multilayered onion. On the outside is the laughable impossible childish utopian idealism. As you peel back the layers of abstract aspirations for the concrete prescriptions underneath, you become steadily more terrified. Thus the European Green Deal, proposed by the European Commission in 2019 and approved in 2020, promised to show member states the way to climate neutrality by 2050. A key component of this Deal – one layer deeper – is a legislative package called Fit for 55, which sounds like a diet plan for menopausal women, but which in fact aims to reduce EU emissions by 55% by 2030. This is starting to sound bad, and our creeping suspicions are confirmed when we go deeper still to this thing called the Buildings Directive, which regulates building energy efficiency in the EU. In 2021, the European Commission proposed extensive revisions to bring this Directive into alignment with its “Fit for 55” aspirations.

New paper from the “father of global warming” argues reducing greenhouse gas emissions is not enough to combat climate change. According to a new paper in Oxford Open Climate Change, published by Oxford University Press, the strategies humanity must pursue to reduce climate change will have to include more than reducing greenhouse gases. This comes from an analysis of climate data led by researcher James Hansen. Scientists have known since the 1800s that infrared-absorbing (greenhouse) gases warm the Earth’s surface and that the abundance of greenhouse gases changes naturally as well as from human actions. Roger Revelle, who was one of the early scientists to study global warming, wrote in 1965 that industrialization meant that human beings were conducting a “vast geophysical experiment” by burning fossil fuels, which adds carbon dioxide (CO₂) to the air. CO₂ has now reached levels that have not existed for millions of years.

But when babies are killed a bit closer to home, and when they’re killed on the taxpayer dime, the establishment does a 180. Tuberville vs. the Swamp Alabama’s Sen. Tommy Tuberville has drawn fire from all sides for holding up hundreds of military nominations in protest against the Pentagon’s abortion policy. Federal law confines the Pentagon to using funds for abortion only in the cases of rape and incest. But Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has put ideology above law and order, promulgating a memo last October to establish “access to reproductive care” as one of his fundamental principles. Currently, the military violates federal law by providing funds to service members so they can procure out-of-state abortions on demand — but that won’t continue if Tuberville has anything to do with it. Since February, he has held up hundreds of military promotions on the grounds that the Pentagon’s abortion policy is illegal. [NOTE: The promotions being held up are at the failed leadership level)

President Biden late Wednesday suddenly started talking about a “pause” in Israel’s operation to root Hamas out of Gaza — de facto starting to jump ship even faster than we’d feared. Worse, the White House and Secretary of State Antony Blinken took up the idea: Now it’s a call for multiple, regular “pauses.” Speculation abounds that Biden’s motive is beyond puerile: Democrats are freaking out because a stand on principle might cost him Michigan (thanks to Arab-American voters) next November. […] Of course, the official line is that the pauses would simply be to get more hostages (including Americans that Hamas refuses to let leave) out of Gaza, and more relief supplies in. This is complete nonsense. For starters, enough relief is already getting in; the only issue is that Hamas won’t let it get where it needs to go, in fact is restricting how much can come in via the Rafah crossing.

By opting for a ground invasion, the IDF has set aside potential responses that would be less risky but might pose an even greater danger to Palestinian civilians. […] As is well known to those who have studied and prosecuted wars in the midst of civilian populations—such as counterinsurgencies and counterterror campaigns—the killing of innocent people can turn the population against a combatant force. Terrorists and insurgents know this, too, and seek to provoke violence against civilians. A popular backlash against the deaths of noncombatants can undermine the strategic objective of securing the population on the way to producing a politically viable peace. Tactically, avoiding civilian casualties means using less heavy firepower and more infantry and small arms. Essentially, soldiers have to put themselves at greater risk of being wounded, maimed, or killed by the insurgent enemy to safeguard the lives of the local population.

Now, put these recommendations in the context of the Israeli Defense Forces entering Gaza. The IDF is not an all-volunteer force like the U.S. Armed Forces but consists mainly of conscripts with varying levels of military training and combat experience. Keep in mind, too, that, militarily, Israel could simply level Gaza and not risk a single Israeli life. Instead, Israel will undertake one of the hardest military tasks: attacking into a defense that Hamas has been preparing for years.

The war has become crazier still. Hamas and its megaphones abroad also blast Israel daily for retaliating for the October butchery of some 1,300 Israeli infants, children, women, and the elderly. They further demand Israel . . .

Not even his efforts to delay the Israeli offensive or his insistence that it allow humanitarian aid to enter the terrorist-run enclave that effectively resupplies Hamas has been enough to dampen the criticism that is placing his re-election campaign in jeopardy. […] Prejudice against any group is deplorable, and where there are incidents of bias against Muslims or Arabs, they should be vigorously condemned. Yet as FBI statistics for the past two decades have shown, there is little or no empirical evidence to back up the claims that Muslims faced a backlash of prejudice after the 9/11 attacks.

Museums robotically continuing on with commemorations of Kristallnacht without actually pausing to reflect and bring in the current attacks on Jews are violating their mission of ‘Never Again’ and museums that have displaced Jewish programming don’t even have that mission and have no reason to exist.

A recent report from the National Center for Health Statistics, part of the Vital Statistics Rapid Release, has revealed that the provisional infant mortality rate for 2022 increased by 3% from the previous year. This comes after a steady decline of 22% from 2002 to 2021.[…] Marie Thoma, a renowned researcher from the University of Maryland who specializes in maternal and infant mortality, expressed her concerns about the trend. “It’s definitely concerning, given that it’s going in the opposite direction from what it has been,” she told AP. Dr. Eric Eichenwald, a Philadelphia-based neonatologist, echoed Thoma’s sentiments, labeling the new data as “disturbing.” He pointed out that while experts have been speculating on the reasons behind this sudden rise, a definitive cause remains elusive.
