Daily News Roundup

Estimated Reading Time: 25 minutes

Chris Hedges Substack: There is little that unites me with those who occupied the Capitol building on Jan. 6. Their vision for America, Christian nationalism, white supremacy, blind support for Trump and embrace of reactionary fact-free conspiracy theories leaves a very wide chasm between their beliefs and mine. But that does not mean I support the judicial lynching against many of those who participated in the Jan. 6 events, a lynching that is mandating years in pretrial detention and prison for misdemeanors. Once rights become privileges, none of us are safe.

Mollie Hemingway savages Senate Minority Lead Mitch McConnell: It is a cruel joke on the nation that this guy is still the titular leader of Senate Republicans in Washington. Are there not even a sufficient number of adults in the Republican conference who have the stones to say something — to do anything — on behalf of Republican voters?  Or are they just weak, mute cowards? At what point do they have the guts to say: “Mitch, enough is enough. Whatever limited good you may have done in the past, you cannot be a leader in the party when you defecate, day after day, year after year, on the voters you purport to represent.”

Rod Thomson contributor to American Greatness: There’s a reason why freedom of speech and of the press are both in the First Amendment. Yet since 2016, no single institution has done more damage to our country than the media.

SL Kanthan Substack: Narratives are innately human and are omnipresent. We understand and relate to a captivating narrative better than raw facts or statistics. Narratives have emotional appeal and are memorable. Who doesn’t have a favorite movie that they have watched numerous times? Or, think of children who force their parents to repeat the same story thousand times. Religions are full of compelling narratives. The best public speakers and politicians have great skills at telling stories. Narratives are also how we talk with one another and even with ourselves. Narratives are wonderful but also powerful, which means they have a dark side. Those in power control us through narratives; and we may trap ourselves in narratives. There is also immense social pressure to stick to certain narratives.

Edward Ring contributor to American Greatness: Critics of the renewables mania correctly identify climate crisis passions as a new popular religion for a post-modern culture that has lost its way. But it is the elites who have truly lost their way. They have not only transmuted their natural human need for meaning and purpose into embracing the green religion, but they have become so intoxicated with their wealth and power that they have convinced themselves they are uniquely qualified to control the destiny of the world. They have forgotten the lessons of history. Lost in their own hubris, they are taking this beautiful world and everyone on it straight to hell.

Daniel Chaitin contributor to Daily Wire: Capitol Police say more than 100 officers reported injuries after January 6. Although four police officers who defended the Capitol on January 6 later committed suicide, only people who were part of the crowd died on the day of the breach, including Ashli Babbitt after being fatally shot by a Capitol Police officer.

Linnea Wahl, MS contributor to DailyClout.io: Why did the FDA authorize emergency use of Pfizer’s mRNA injection based on COVID-19 diagnosis in such a small fraction (0.4%) of the total study population? Why did the FDA approve the inaccurate PCR test for use in diagnosing COVID-19? Why did the FDA allow Pfizer to unblind the control group and abandon the gold standard in its clinical trial even as more and more mRNA recipients were seriously injured every day? To Pfizer and the FDA, the clinical trial was a success; a “historically unprecedented achievement” according to Pfizer’s press release. But when Pfizer unblinded the placebo recipients and ruined the control group, the clinical trial of Pfizer’s mRNA injection did, in fact, fail.

Jordan Dixon-Hamilton reporter for Brietbart.com: Both “phantom” resumés were college graduates “with qualifications matching the entry-level jobs they applied for.”However, the report determined that the resumés with “they/them” pronouns “received eight percent less employer interest than the control resumes without pronouns.”

Jonathan Turley professor and legal scholar: As public schools continue to produce abysmal scores, particularly for minority students, board and union officials have called for lowering or suspending proficiency standards or declared meritocracy to be a form of “white supremacy.” Gifted and talented programs are being eliminated in the name of “equity.”

WEDNESDAY MARCH 8th at 6pm EST – DailyClout Film Club: “Beyond Humanity: The Perils and Promises of Transhumanism”

In this film, Claire’s perspective of transhumanism, technology, and scientism are brought to light. Transhumanism offers great promise and yet could also pose great risk to the world. Can we accept technology’s perils for the sake of enjoying its promises? Or will we be left behind? Claire Dooley is a documentary filmmaker, focusing on censored stories that the “mainstream” strays away from. Her recent works include Infertility: A Diabolical Agenda and Between Peace and War.

Waldman, M.D.: Artificial Intelligence Can’t Replace Your Doctor

Artificial intelligence (AI) has recently been touted as a revolutionary advance in clinical medicine that might save our failing healthcare system. A google search for “artificial intelligence in medicine or healthcare” displays 99 pages of citations. It’s true that, despite technical, security, financial, and regulatory issues of implementation, AI in medical practice can efficiently gather, organize, and statistically analyze quantitative data from multiple sources, viz., stationary monitors, wearables, smartphones, and even cardiac pacemakers. Furthermore, AI can list diagnostic as well as therapeutic options and proffer published clinical guidelines, advisories, and algorithms. AI can be especially helpful in public health. Applying AI to the early pandemic data in 2021 could have prevented Washington’s ill-conceived, disastrous response plan to CoViD.  However, in the clinical practice of medicine, AI cannot substitute for human care providers (i.e., nurses, doctors, or therapists).

Ring: Renewables Aren’t Renewable

oday in America, there are obvious disconnects between observable reality and the narratives we get from the corporate special interests controlling the news we consume, along with politicians who are supposedly elected to represent us. This is nothing new. Elites have defined America’s destiny throughout its history. The only difference today is that the internet, despite ongoing crackdowns, still manages to deliver an unprecedented volume of contrarian perspectives to millions of people. We aren’t any freer or less manipulated today than we ever were, we’re just more aware of it.What may be different today, however, is the misanthropic folly of America’s current energy policies. America’s ruling elites are not only imposing these policies on everyone living here, they are attempting to impose them everywhere on earth. By now it should be beyond serious debate that “renewable” energy cannot possibly scale adequately to replace fossil fuels. Worse still, renewable energy systems are even less sustainable than fossil fuels and cause more environmental destruction. Renewables also fail to offer significant reductions in carbon emissions, and in some cases actually cause more carbon emissions. Why these facts are dismissed by America’s elites is a story of corruption, collusion, megalomania, greed, cowardice, intellectual negligence, and delusional mass psychosis.

Dierker: Democrats’ Climate Lawfare Campaign Jeopardizes America’s Energy Future

Using litigation to achieve policy ends has become a tried and true tactic in political and advocacy fights. However, in recent years, climate activists have used the courts as a weapon to attack large energy companies — essentially leveraging the legal system as a proxy to win a war of public opinion. Nowhere is this form of “lawfare” more pronounced than in the raft of climate litigation facing energy producers. In fact, the group of states and municipalities looking to pin financial blame for climate change on energy companies could be reaching a critical turning point. In the near term, President Joe Biden’s solicitor general, Elizabeth Prelogar, will file a brief to the Supreme Court that could offer a position on the jurisdiction under which climate lawsuits should fall: federal or state courts. The opinion could be pivotal in determining whether plaintiffs can use friendly local venues to penalize or seek payouts from those who produce the energy America needs.

Techno Fog: More Evidence on How the Biden Regime Cracked Down on and Eliminated Disfavored Information

More and more evidence is revealed nearly every day on how the Biden regime was censoring and eliminating disfavored information and unapproved thoughts immediately after entering office. This isn’t your daddy’s America anymore. Via TechnoFog on Substack. The Biden White House’s demands of COVID-19 censorship began right after the President took power. It was a matter of days. Three days to be exact. Three days before the crimes of thought were to be punished. On January 23, 2021, a mere three days after Biden was inaugurated, White House officials flagged COVID-19 “misinformation” for removal ASAP – including tweets by activist Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Biden’s censorship operation was led by Rob Flaherty, the White House director of digital media. And the quickness with which they dispensed demands to suppress speech indicated a prioritization of the Biden Administration to put an end to unwelcome and politically inconvenient thoughts.

Pavlich: The Feds Are Trying to Punish Elon Musk for Exposing the Twitter Files

In an outrageous attack on the First Amendment, the Federal Trade Commission is going after Twitter CEO Elon Musk for exposing censorship previously deployed by the company, known as the “Twitter Files,” after taking over the social network last year. That censorship, which targeted Townhall, was heavily influenced and pushed by the FBI, the Biden White House and other federal government agencies.  According to new reporting from the Wall Street Journal, the FTC is demanding Musk turn over the names of journalists he’s worked with — many who published the Twitter Files — along with other private and internal company information.

Wahl, MS: Report 59: The Flawed Trial of Pfizer’s COVID-19 mRNA “Vaccine.” 90% of Original Placebo Group Received at Least One mRNA Injection by March 2021.

The clinical trial of Pfizer’s mRNA “vaccine” did not prove the mRNA injection is safe and effective, despite Pfizer’s claims to the contrary. In fact, Pfizer stopped collecting useful data long before the planned end date of the clinical trial. Based on an inaccurate diagnostic test confirming COVID-19 in a tiny fraction of the study population, Pfizer researchers unblinded the control group and injected them with Pfizer’s mRNA “vaccine.” Because of these flaws in Pfizer’s clinical trial, no valid conclusions can be drawn about safety and effectiveness of Pfizer’s mRNA injection. […]  Pfizer declared Phase 3 of the trial a success on November 18, 2020, after 170 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and just about four months after the trial began. In a press release, Pfizer announced, “Pfizer and BioNTech Conclude Phase 3 Study of COVID-19 Vaccine Candidate, Meeting All Primary Efficacy Endpoints” (emphasis added). After just 170 cases of COVID-19 in 41,135 participants who had received their second doses by November 13, 2020, Pfizer called the efficacy test a success based on a COVID-19 incidence rate of only 0.4% (170/41,135). Revolver.news: [VIDEO] Here’s the hidden REAL reason why Fauci/FDA/CDC lied to you about HCQ & Ivermectin…

There was no shortage of silly, unserious propaganda being pushed in order to keep the COVID fear train rolling, but not all of it was a laughing matter. Things took an even darker and deadlier turn when the government came out full-throttle to slam and discredit, any talk of medications that could quickly heal COVID victims and save lives. Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and Ivermectin were two medications the government targeted with nasty, untruthful smear campaigns. Who remembers when the FDA pretended Ivermectin was only used as “horse medication,” and mocked “ya’ll” who were using it? The only person in the U.S. government who was seriously promoting these medicines as possible “cures” for COVID, was President Trump. And every time Trump talked about HCQ and Ivermectin, Fauci was waiting in the wings ready to “debunk” him with quickness. So, why was the government so hell-bent on shutting down any talk about alternate medications to treat COVID?

Prager: Why the Left Is Pro-Mask

So why, even despite the science, does the Left insist on wearing—and forcing others to wear—masks? I will offer four reasons. One reason is that the further Left one goes, the more fear governs an individual’s life. This is true because the more one is governed by fear, the more one is likely to take left-wing positions. And it is true because left-wing positions inculcate fear. In other words, the frightened gravitate to the Left, and the Left makes people frightened. The second reason the Left still insists on mask wearing is that leftists don’t ask the question, “At what price?” In fact, the moment one asks that question, one becomes a conservative. The price paid for mask wearing is huge. Not seeing people’s faces has a negative impact on human relations. People whose face cannot be seen are less human—isn’t that why people who oppose the Muslim veil oppose it? Doesn’t the veil dehumanize the woman whose face disappears behind it? What is the effective difference between the veil and the mask? There is none. And what about children who don’t see faces outside of their house? What about patients who don’t see the faces of nurses and doctors? The nursing home residents who can’t see the smiles and hear the unmuffled speech of their caregivers? The harm done is huge. A third reason for left-wing support for masks is that leftists . . .

Thomson: Our Most Essential Institution Is Also Our Most Dangerous

The latest complete flip-flops regarding the underpinnings of the COVID regime should end any remaining debate: the media is the single biggest threat to America and Americans.  Virtually everything the media told us on the two seminal issues of the past six years—Trump-Russia collusion and the panoply of COVID-19 reactions—was wrong. This is well beyond frustrating. It has been a disaster for America as trust levels have cratered for the media and consequently for virtually every establishment institution. American’s barely even trust their fellow Americans. And all of this comes before we even consider the excess deaths that may have resulted from the suppression of alternatives to vaccines, the shutdowns of states, and the masking of children. We are a nation riven in discord, and it could not have happened without the media playing the central connecting role in selling the disinformation scandals. It is the one constant.

[…]  The rights of the media are ensconced right there in the First Amendment’s free press clause, buttressed by the free speech clause for all of us. The founders understood that an informed citizenry was necessary to the operation of the constitutional republic they had established.

Jacobs: The Most Vicious Attacks Of The 2024 GOP Primary Won’t Come From Presidential Rivals, But From The Press

When it comes to the impending presidential primaries, Republicans need not bother attacking each other. The liberal press seems content to do so for them. That lesson appears obvious based on the initial coverage to date of Nikki Haley’s campaign. When former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley entered the race, the Trump campaign issued a press release chronicling her political history. Nathaniel Weixel, a “reporter” at The Hill, turned that press release into a partisan attack masquerading as a “news” item. He all but accused most Republicans of wanting to throw Grandma over the proverbial cliff. But while the Trump campaign’s attack was vicious, the ensuing articles made it seem comparatively tame and conventional. This release consisted of a series of press clippings about and quotes from Haley, some of which discussed her prior support for structural Medicare and Social Security changes proposed by then-Rep. Paul Ryan when he was chairman of the House Budget Committee.

Hedges: Lynching the Deplorables

Once rights become privileges, none of us are safe.  The U.S. legal system has a very sordid history. It was used to enforce segregation and legitimize the reign of terror against Black people. It was the hammer that broke the back of militant union movements. It persecuted radicals and reformers in the name of anti-communism. After 9/11, it relentlessly went after Muslim leaders and activists with Special Administrative Measures (SAMs). SAMs, established by the Clinton administration, originally only applied to people who ordered murders from prison or were convicted of mass murder, but are now used to isolate all manner of detainees before and during trial. They severely restrict a prisoner’s communication with the outside world; prohibiting calls, letters and visits with anyone except attorneys and sharply limit contact with family members. The solitary confinement like conditions associated with SAMs undermine any meaningful right to a fair trial according to analysis by groups like the Center for Constitutional Rights and can amount to torture according to the United Nations. Julian Assange faces SAMs or similar conditions should he be extradited to the U.S. The Classified Information Procedures Act, or CIPA, begun under the Reagan administration, also allows evidence in a trial to be classified and withheld from defendants. The courts, throughout American history, have abjectly served the interests of big business and the billionaire class. The current Supreme Court is one of the most retrograde in decades, rolling back legal protections for vulnerable groups and denying workers protection from predatory corporate abuse.

Sedgwick: Anarchy in the CIA

When the intelligence community wants to recruit punk rockers, who are society’s rebels? […]  From 1953 to 1973, the CIA ran MKUltra, the illegal program designed to chart the potential of psychedelic drugs for mind control. Among the notable graduates of the program were the Beat writers Allen Ginsburg and Ken Kesey, environmental terrorist Ted Kaczinski, and the architect of the murder of the twentieth century, Charles Manson. All counterculture heroes on this list were first introduced to LSD by the spy agency, and all but Kaczinski then passed that experience to their disciples, forging the hippie ideology and aesthetic. Now the CIA plans on recruiting at the South by Southwest festival, or SXSW, the punk rock/alternative yearly flagship event in Texas. On their webpage, the CIA announced that it will be holding a tech-dedicated panel called “Spies Supercharged”:

Cheney: DOJ takes on the Jan. 6 Tucker Carlson tapes

Prosecutors  emphasized that defendants and their lawyers have had access to an enormous trove of evidence for nearly two years — more then 4.9 million files totaling nearly 7.4 terabytes of information. Those files include “over 30,000 files that include body-worn and hand-held camera footage from five law enforcement agencies and surveillance-camera footage from three law enforcement agencies.” Prosecutors contended that the existence of the additional footage reviewed by Carlson does not necessarily entitle defendants to receive it — particularly without a basis for believing it includes exculpatory content.

[…]  Defense teams have complained that the overwhelming amount of material has been impossible to comb through — even as they demand access to the extensive new trove. It’s become a recurring theme in Jan. 6 cases: Prosecutors have dumped enormous caches of evidence on defense teams, who continuously claim they don’t have the means or capacity to meaningfully review it. The Justice Department noted that it has built tools intended to help defendants and their lawyers pinpoint relevant footage by camera angle and time of day.

Sundance: Senator Mitch McConnell Rips Tucker Carlson for Depicting a False Impression of the Horrific Insurrection He Experienced on January 6th

Tucker Carlson has kicked a hornet’s nest by broadcasting the January 6, 2021, footage on his television show and outlining the violent insurrection narrative as a false premise.  Given the nature of the entire apparatus of government and media that is now united against him, it will be interesting to see if Carlson’s TV show survives. Standing in front of the cameras earlier this afternoon, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell blasted Fox News and Tucker Carlson . . .

Hemingway: Dear Mitch McConnell: You Were Not Elected To Do The Bidding Of Chuck Schumer And CNN

As one former White House reporter put it, “It’s frightening to see Senate leaders demand a media company ‘stop’ reporting on the government, police, issues of law and justice.” Surely this would be an opportunity for the otherwise weak and feckless Senate Republicans to show some backbone, right? Wrong.

Romney said that showing Americans footage from Jan. 6 meant Carlson had gone “off the rails,” and compared him to Alex Jones. He also went after McCarthy for being transparent with the American people. Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., took a break from working on an amnesty bill to tell Raju that Carlson showing new footage of the protest that countered the left’s narrative was “bullsh-t.” South Dakota Sens. Mike Rounds and John Thune, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, and North Dakota Sen. Kevin Cramer also fell for the media campaign against Carlson. Leading the group was Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. Raju invited him to bash McCarthy. It’s not saying much, but McConnell was at least smart enough to decline that opportunity. But he did take the opportunity to attack a media outlet for daring to say something different than what a police leader said. Really. He said, “It was a mistake, in my view, for Fox News to depict this in a way that is completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official here at the Capitol thinks.” Let’s leave aside the abject offensiveness of the Republican leader saying journalists must simply repeat what governmental authorities say and not show video footage “at variance” with what the government says. What is McConnell doing? Seriously? The man only rarely speaks on camera to reporters, so his decision to do so is intentional. He brought a prop — the statement from the government official — to wave around for the camera.

Fleetwood: Schumer: To Protect Democracy, I Need The One Network I Don’t Control To Stop Airing Raw Footage Of Congress

Democrat Sen. Chuck Schumer is calling on the owner of Fox News to prevent network host Tucker Carlson from releasing any more footage from the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol that House Democrats hid from the public for two years. Carlson’s team reviewed more than 40,000 hours of video from that day and on Monday aired previously unseen footage that contradicts numerous falsehoods peddled by Democrat politicos and corporate media. On Tuesday, Schumer melodramatically told reporters that Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch “has a special obligation” to bar Carlson from airing more unedited footage from Jan. 6 “because our democracy depends on it.”  […]  Why the demand for censorship? According to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Jan. 6 was supposedly “the worst attack on [American] democracy since the Civil War.” If the country were as close to forfeiting democracy as Democrats often claim, don’t the American people deserve to see as much footage as possible from that day? Not according to Democrats. That’s because the footage Carlson released shows their J6 narrative was not only overblown but in some instances completely false.

The White House is ready to quietly reverse rules demanding travelers from China test for coronavirus before entry to the United States, a report Wednesday suggests. Beginning January 5, travelers arriving from China by air had to provide a negative coronavirus test to enter the nation “within two days of their departure from airports in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau,” as Breitbart News reported.

Kredo: Taliban Has $7.2 Billion Worth of U.S. Military Equipment Abandoned in Afghanistan, Report Says

The Taliban is in possession of nearly $7.2 billion in U.S. taxpayer-funded weapons, ammunition, and aircraft as a result of the Biden administration’s bungled 2021 military withdrawal from Afghanistan, according to a government watchdog. […]  “At least 78 aircraft worth $923.3 million, 9,524 air-to-ground munitions valued at $6.54 million, over 40,000 vehicles, more than 300,000 weapons, and nearly all night vision, surveillance, communications, and biometric equipment provided to the [Afghan defense forces] were left behind,” according to information disclosed in SIGAR’s report. The report comes ahead of the first public hearing on the Afghanistan withdrawal in the Republican-controlled House Wednesday and is likely to fuel questions on why the administration failed to prevent the Taliban from stealing U.S. military hardware. House Foreign Affairs Committee chairman Michael McCaul (R., Texas) says the Biden administration has stonewalled his committee’s attempts to obtain documents that could provide a window into the administration’s mishandling of the operation.

Kanthan: “Not One Inch Forward” — Broken NATO Promise that Led to Ukraine-Russia War

When did the Russia-Ukraine conflict start? 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine? 2014 when the U.S. orchestrated a coup in Kiev, and Crimea voted to join Russia? Actually, no. They were more like Acts 10 and 15 of a long drama. Act 1 of the riveting play started in 1990! In 1990, negotiators from US, Germany, France, UK, NATO etc. assured Gorbachev that NATO would not expand “one inch east forward” after the collapse of the USSR. Naively, the Russian side believed it. Declassified documents released in 2017 show how Western leaders promised (fooled) Russia. “U.S. Secretary of State James Baker’s famous ‘not one inch eastward’ assurance about NATO expansion in his meeting with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev on February 9, 1990, was part of a cascade of assurances about Soviet security given by Western leaders to Gorbachev.” Every major Western leader assured Russia numerous times that NATO would not expand after 1990. This included: US President Bush (Sr.), German Chancellor Kohl, French President Mitterrand, UK Prime Minister Thatcher, and NATO Secretary General Woerner.

A nondescript “pro-Ukrainian group” with zero connections to the governments of Ukraine, America or Britain carried out the bombing of the Nord Stream pipelines, according to anonymous US intelligence officials who spoke with the New York Times. This “new intelligence” amounts to “the first significant known lead about who was responsible,” according to the Times. In contrast to Seymour Hersh’s detailed report which fingered the US and Norway for the bombings, the anonymous US intel officials who spoke with the Times provided no evidence to back up their claims. Nonetheless, that didn’t stop the Times from publishing their vague insinuations to help the Biden regime muddy the waters.

Pollak: Liberal Tears: Michelle Obama Recalls ‘Uncontrollable Sobbing’ When Trump Became President; ‘No Diversity, No Color’

Michelle Obama broke down shortly after leaving then-President Donald Trump’s inauguration, the former first lady candidly shared in a new podcast, as the emotions of leaving their family’s home after eight years and resentment over Trump taking office overwhelmed her. “When those doors shut, I cried for 30 minutes straight, uncontrollable sobbing, because that’s how much we were holding it together for eight years,” Obama said, referring to her final trip aboard the presidential airplane. Mrs. Obama added a racial tinge to her remarks, bemoaning what she called a “lack of diversity” among the incoming members of the Trump administration, expressing dismay that so many of them were white:

Turley: Should Universities Offer Black Bereavement Leave?

The Times Higher Education has prompted a debate in the teaching academy over a call for “Black bereavement leave” by Angel Jones, a visiting assistant professor teaching educational leadership courses at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. Jones wrote that Black educators need time off to cope with the killings of black individuals in society. The leave would not depend on the educators knowing or having any relationship to the deceased. Jones wrote in the academic publication that “Some may have thought I was joking when I mentioned Black bereavement leave, but I wasn’t. We need space and time to grieve without having to explain or defend it. And since the grief process, like the Black community, is not a monolith, flexibility is required. Some may need a day off while others may just need to be able to work from home. Some may need a small extension on a deadline while others may need to have something removed from their plate completely.” […]  She also said that the leave will show real commitment to racial justice since “history has shown us  . . . […]  The question is whether such race-based leave would be constitutional. Jones is calling for a categorical leave option only available to black educators. That could trigger a challenge by non-Black faculty. […]  Jones received her Ph.D from George Washington University, two degrees from Georgia State University, and her B.A. from Syracuse University. He faculty bio states that her “work is grounded in Critical Race Theory and Critical Race Feminism and acknowledges the roles that race and racism play in the lives of Black students.”

Crane: Disneyland ditches ‘Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah’ from parade in latest woke nod

It’s a woke world, after all. Disney has quietly axed its beloved “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” tune from its daily park parade performances – because the catchy song is tied to the 1946 film “Song of the South.” Amid a woke makeover at the amusement park, Disneyland visitors will no longer hear the iconic song during its popular twice-daily Magic Happens parade. Instead, the parade’s playlist will now feature a song from the “Peter Pan” film. […]  Disney CEO Bob Iger had announced in March 2020 that “Song of the South” would be axed from the Disney+ streaming service because the “outdated cultural depictions” essentially made it inappropriate in today’s world.

Baletti PhD: Exclusive: Mother Sues D.C. Doctor Who Gave Kids COVID Vaccines Without Consent

Children’s Health Defense is funding a lawsuit by a D.C. mother alleging a doctor vaccinated two of her children for COVID-19 without her consent after falsely telling the teens the shots were required for school. The mother of two children who were given COVID-19 vaccines without the mother’s consent is suing the doctor who administered the vaccines. An attorney representing NaTonya McNeil last week filed a lawsuit in Superior Court for the District of Columbia against Janine A. Rethy, M.D., M.P.H. According to the complaint, on Sept. 2, 2022, McNeil took her two older children, ages 15 and 17, to the KIDS Mobile Medical Clinic/Ronald McDonald Care Mobile clinic, operated by Georgetown Hospital, to complete their required annual physical exam for the 2022-2023 school year. The lawsuit alleges Rethy, director of the mobile clinic, held the children in the examination room longer than necessary for a regular check-up and vaccinated them against COVID-19 over their objections and without consulting their mother. In order to attempt to obtain the children’s consent — which they are not legally able to provide without a parent or guardian — the doctor falsely informed the children the COVID-19 vaccine was mandatory for school attendance and told them they could not lawfully decline it if they wanted to attend school.

Turley: “Teaching is a Political Act”: UNT Course Raises Questions Over Political Agendas in Public Education

There is a new controversy over political agendas in education after the release of course materials from the University of North Texas (UNT) for future K-12 educators. It is important to keep in mind that this is just one school. However, the controversy raises, again, the question of whether universities are pushing a more activist model for education. We saw a similar activist movement emerge out of journalism schools that is now taking hold in mainstream media.  The concern over the UNT controversy is whether it is indicative of a wider effort that is causing many families to leave public education. The material is derived from a course and syllabus on “Teaching as Advocacy for Equity.” The course focuses on “structures of social and educational inequality, as they relate to race, class, and gender” and how teaching can be “a form of intervention” to change society through “cultural reproduction.” […]  It also includes a list of “core commitments” for future teachers that states “[w]e are activists working against injustice for young people, teachers, and communities rooted in racism and other forms of discrimination.”

Feoktistov: A Lone Bureaucrat Denied Due Process And Unemployment Benefits To Massachusetts’ Unvaxxed

Though they now publicly ask for amnesty, many policymakers who were wrong about all things Covid-19 still seem more resentful than sorry. Many are still busily punishing their citizens for the crime of turning out to be right. In Massachusetts, the state government is still denying unemployment assistance to all workers fired from any job, government or private, for refusing to get the Covid-19 vaccine and boosters. Even vaccinated workers who refused to get boosters and workers who refused the vaccine for legitimate religious or medical reasons are being denied.

My law office represents some of these Massachusetts workers. We have discovered that the decision to punish them for refusing the jab by cutting them out of the state’s social safety net was not made by the state’s legislature, governor, or high court. It was made by one Emmy Patronick, a mid-level bureaucrat serving in the state’s Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development as the director of policy and performance for the state’s Department of Unemployment Assistance (DUA). In an Oct. 14, 2021, “interoffice memorandum” to all DUA unemployment claim adjudicators, Patronick simply overruled federal and state employment laws with a new policy more to her liking: . . .

Wilson: Minnesota’s Dem Governor Signs Bill Allowing Tens of Thousands of Felons To Vote

More than 55,000 felons will have the right to vote in Minnesota after Democratic governor Tim Walz signed a law doing away with voting bans for convicts under felony probation or supervision. “As a state that consistently ranks among the top three in voter turnout, Minnesota will continue to lead in the fight to protect and expand the right to vote,” said Walz, who signed the “Restore the Vote” bill on March 3. The act goes into effect on July 1. Minnesota previously allowed felons to vote once they cleared probation, prison time, and supervision.

Hoft: EXCLUSIVE: New Mexico Soros-Backed Secretary of State, Maggie Toulouse-Oliver, Used Illegal Software to Combine Election Results and Tried to Cover It Up, Breaking Several State and Local Laws in the Process

As the Democrat-controlled New Mexico legislature barrels ahead with legislation that would put the nail in the coffin of honesty and transparency in New Mexico’s elections, the corruption of the Secretary of State (SOS), Maggie Toulouse Oliver, continues to be exposed. After hearing public testimony during a November Torrance County public meeting, the Estancia News has done a deep dive on how election results in New Mexico are finalized, or “canvassed.”  It turns out the SOS has illegally centralized this process, cutting out the clerks, and breaking multiple state and federal laws in the process.

Sabin: Hackers are quickly learning how to breach cloud systems

Hackers are quickly finding flaws in organizations’ cloud infrastructure despite perceptions that the technology is ironclad against cyberattacks. The big picture: Organizations have invested billions of dollars in recent years to move their digital data from traditional, on-premise enterprise storage solutions to the cloud. That investment is expected to keep growing and reach close to $600 billion this year. The high price of relocating data was largely paid for one reason: It’s far more difficult for hackers to break into an organization’s cloud systems. But recent research and incidents underscore how quickly malicious hackers are adapting to the new reality.

Lifson: National Review plays defense for J6 Committee, attacks Tucker Carlson

I know, I know; National Review is still the outfit that published the infamous “Against Trump” issue as a last ditch effort to foil the successful 2016 candidacy that led to four years of peace, prosperity, low inflation, and disproportionate gains for the lower end of the income scale under President Trump. But still, it comes as a bit of a shock that the publication I must credit for opening my eyes to the virtues of conservativism seems to be throwing in with Adam Schiff, Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger and the rest of the J6 kangaroo court crowd that censored thousands of hours of Capitol surveillance footage in an online article titled, “Tucker Carlson’s January 6 Revisionist History.” The article, written by Noah Rothman, who recently joined NR after years at NeverTrump Commentary, summarizes Carlson’s charges about what the footage reveals, only to summarily debunk it: . . .[…] There is no hint that NR is bothered by the suppression of video evidence denied to defendants in trials for the J6 incident. Why,  . . . […]  According to National Review, we should really trust those who limited our access to evidence of what happened that day, accept coerced pleas of guilty by people who had been abused by being held in solitary confinement and represented by public defenders with little time or inclination to fight for acquittals, and simply not ask too many questions.  To my mind, this is even worse than “Against Trump.”

Chaitin: Capitol Police Chief Responds To Tucker Carlson’s Airing Of January 6 Footage

The head of U.S. Capitol Police sent a memo to his staff Tuesday, after Fox News host Tucker Carlson aired dramatic, previously unseen security footage of January 6 that showed police officers appearing to stand by passively as people poured into the Capitol. Police Chief Tom Manger criticized the commentary on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” which he said was “filled with offensive and misleading conclusions” about January 6, 2021, the day a crowd of people entered the U.S. Capitol, disrupting lawmakers who were meeting to certify President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory.“The program conveniently cherry-picked from the calmer moments of our 41,000 hours of video,” Manger said. “The commentary fails to provide context about the chaos and violence that happened before or during these less tense moments.”

Gillespie: Trump impeachment witness Alexander Vindman accused of trying to profit off Ukraine war with defense contracts

Retired Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who made waves as a witness during the first impeachment proceedings of former President Donald Trump, is now being accused of trying to profit off the war in Ukraine by pitching lucrative defense contracts through his private company. In a statement to Fox News Digital, Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., who was one of the sharpest critics of Vindman throughout the impeachment investigation, blasted him as an “opportunist,” and accused him of undertaking continuous efforts to try and personally profit from his attacks against the Trump administration to his reported dealings in Ukraine.

Kent: Oklahoma Not Going to Pot: Voters Reject Legalizing Recreational Marijuana

Oklahoma voters on Tuesday rejected the legalization of recreational marijuana, defying 21 other states that approved the step in the past decade. Oklahoma would have joined conservative states like Montana and Missouri that have approved recent similar proposals. Similarly many conservative states have also said no, including Arkansas, North Dakota and South Dakota last year, as the Associated Press reports. […]  The question on whether those 21 years of age and older should be permitted recreational use of the drug was put before voters, with 61 percent saying “no” to the proposal, according to state election results.

Turley: Florida Legislator Proposes a State Registry for Bloggers

There is a deeply disturbing legislative proposal in Florida where Sen. Jason Brodeur of Lake Mary has called for bloggers to register with the state if they want to write about the state’s governor, lieutenant governor, cabinet members or legislative officials. It is a highly intrusive, dangerous, and presumptively unconstitutional effort. Yet, it is also important to note that this is just a proposal from a single legislator with little real chance of passage. What I find interesting is the historical underpinnings of such a law. The comparison is not favorable for Sen. Brodeur.
