NOTABLE QUOTES

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas: We already have reinstituted the Central American minors program that was built in the Obama-Biden administration and that was torn down by the prior administration, but we well understand that out of desperation, some children might not wait. Some loving parents might send their child to traverse Mexico alone, to reach the southern border, our southern border. I hope they don’t undertake that perilous journey, but if they do, we will not expel that young child. We will care for that young child and unite that child with a responsible parent. That is who we are as a nation, and we can do it.

Rep. Ann Wagner (R-MO.) contributor to Townhall: Now, it’s not just canceling books, toys, and television shows; it’s censoring the language you use. Nancy Pelosi and Washington liberals have banned terms like “mother” and “father” in Congress. We’re now even seeing this tactic being applied to schools across the country. As a mother and a grandmother, I am deeply concerned about these increasingly frequent, increasingly aggressive attacks on free speech.

Ian Haworth contributor to The Daily Wire: “Drag Queen Story Hour” — which the organization led by Bloome described as capturing “the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models” — is itself part of an open effort to sexualize children, exposing them to drastically inappropriate scenarios and situations.

2020 ELECTION

Benson: Iowa Congresswoman: House Democrats Have Begun the Process of Stealing the Seat I Won
A Democrat-controlled House committee recently took an affirmative step in the direction of overturning the result in a partisan power grab, and Republicans are now on high alert. They’ve launched a petition at PelosiSteal.com, and major players within the party are sounding the alarm. If Democrats are going to try to rob the GOP of a legitimately-won election in order to pad their razor-thin majority, they cannot go through the process without intense, painful scrutiny. Miller-Meeks joined my radio program yesterday to explain the unfolding attack on democracy from her perspective. As I note in the tweet below, her disposition and tone are far more controlled than mine might be under similar circumstances: . . . […] The Democratic chairwoman of the committee now in control of this scheme averred last week, “the American people deserve to know who actually won this election.” We already know who won. It was the woman who received more votes after both the initial tabulation and the recount, who was certified the winner by her state, and who is a sworn-in and voting member of Congress: Mariennette Miller-Meeks. The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board penned a scathing editorial on the subject, exposing what Democrats are actively entertaining: . . .

BEHIND THE DEEP STATE

Bovard: Will FBI ‘Chats’ Send Conservatives To Prison?
With no requirements to record interviews, and the potential to prosecute based on false statements, the FBI has a terrifying amount of power over citizens. Across the nation, FBI agents are swooping down upon conservative activists, Trump supporters, and anyone suspected of any tie to the January 6 clash at the Capitol. Conservative author Candace Owens tweeted on March 3: “About 10 of my friends who attended Trump’s speech but DID NOT go to Capitol building thereafter have had the FBI turn up at their door to ask them why they went to D.C. … Our FBI is trying to scare conservatives against ever gathering in the future.”

GOP

Munro: 30 GOP Reps. Vote for Farmworker Amnesty, Replacement Foreign Workforce
Thirty GOP legislators voted for a Democrat farmworker amnesty that would push many Americans out of jobs, push billions of dollars of payroll from rural towns to foreign countries, and slash investment in wealth-creating farm machinery. The total of 30 yes votes is down from 34 yes votes for a similar bill in 2019, despite much-increased pressure from wealthy business groups, farm lobbies, and ethnic activists. The lobbies favor the bill because it provides Democrats with a future ocean of amnestied voters — and it provides farm companies and their investors with an endless supply of very cheap and controllable H-2A visa workers. The bill now goes to the Senate, . . .[…] The 30 GOP votes for the amnesty and cheap-labor bill were provided by Reps: . . . […] Senate Republicans must hold firm and oppose both the American Dream and Promise Act and the Farm Workforce Modernization Act if they are brought to the floor in the upper chamber. The border crisis is raging, and the American people are watching – address the crisis, do not exacerbate it.

Wilson: Georgia Republicans back away from some voting restrictions
Top Republicans in Georgia’s state legislature are backing away from a controversial plan to eliminate no-excuse absentee voting and to do away with early voting on Sundays after increasing criticism from voting rights groups and the state’s largest businesses. In a hearing late Thursday, legislators said their package of election law changes would drop some of the most controversial elements. State Rep. Barry Fleming (R), who heads the Special Committee on Election Integrity, said the new version of the bill would allow up to four weekend days of early voting, more than what is currently required.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: FOREIGN POLICY

Bond: North Korea Calls Nuclear Talks With U.S. ‘Waste Of Time’ Unless U.S. Changes Policy
On Thursday, North Korea said that it will disregard efforts by the United States to hold discussions unless the U.S. changes its policy following recent attempts by the U.S. to continue nuclear talks. Choe Son Hui, Pyongyang’s first vice minister of foreign affairs, released a statement before top officials from the United States and South Korea held a joint press briefing in Seoul. […] The statement from Choe comes days after North Korea’s first official statement was issued toward the Biden administration by way of North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un’s sister, Kim Yo Jong. On Tuesday, Kim Yo Jong stated, “We take this opportunity to warn the new U.S. administration trying hard to give off (gun) powder smell in our land … If it wants to sleep in peace for coming four years, it had better refrain from causing a stink at its first step.” [NOTE: During the Trump presidency, North Korea did not issue such a threat.]

Goodenough: Putin Challenges Biden to Live Public Discussion; Medvedev Questions His Age and State of Health
Russian President Vladimir Putin has challenged President Biden to take part in an urgent livestreamed dialogue amid a diplomatic chill following Biden’s portrayal of the Russian president as a “killer.” Putin says he’s available on Friday or Monday, although the White House gave no indication it was interested in taking up the invitation.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING AMERICA

Buchanan: Do We Not Have Enough Enemies?
What is Biden doing? Do we not have enough enemies? Does he not have enough problems on his plate? […] There is talk of new North Korean tests of missiles and nuclear weapons. […] If time is on America’s side in our cold wars with Russia, China, North Korea and Iran, is not the wiser policy to maneuver to avoid any new hot wars?

Vadum: Kamala Harris, Traitor
Vice President Kamala Devi Harris attacked her own country as violent and racist when she appeared on the world stage with Ireland’s prime minister this week. She kicked off a St. Patrick’s Day online summit by assailing America in what can be seen as a tribute of sorts to Barack Obama, a mentor of hers who pioneered the globetrotting national self-denunciation when he was president. Before much was known about a deadly shooting spree at Asian spas in the Atlanta area, Harris seditiously declared on the world stage that it was a hate crime. “It is tragic,” she told Irish premier Micheal Martin. “It speaks to a larger issue which is the issue of violence in our country and what we must do to never tolerate it and to always speak out against it. […] Hatred of America is what animates this former San Francisco district attorney and Willie Brown plaything. She only denounces violence she considers to be bad. If the violence consists of Black Lives Matter and Antifa burning the nation’s cities down to the ground to protest the self-caused drug death of a loser like George Floyd, that is good violence in her view.

Cooke: Why the Filibuster Must Be Saved
Egged on once more by the ambitions of Lady Macbeth, Joe Biden has weakened his commitment to the filibuster. It now falls to two members of his party, Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, to save the Senate as we have known it. And save it they most assuredly should. The two most frequent criticisms of the Senate filibuster are that it is “not in the Constitution” and that it is “undemocratic.” On a superficial level, both of these charges seem correct. And yet, when one gives them a little more thought, one soon realizes that there is a great deal more going on here than meets the partisan eye. Indeed, when one gives them a little more thought, one realizes that, far from subverting our system of government, the contemporary filibuster plays a vital role in its preservation. By explicit and hard-fought design, the United States Constitution . . .

THE DEMOCRAT PARTY’S WAR ON AMERICA’S CHILDREN

Haworth: After Latest Arrest, It’s Clear That ‘Drag Queen Story Hour’ Is A Haven For Child Predators
The Mayor of Milwaukee, Tom Barrett, reportedly expressed his “complete surprise” that child court Judge Brett Blomme — who “previously headed up an LGBTQ organization that fundraised for ‘drag queen story hour’ among other programs” — was arrested on “tentative” charges of possession of child pornography. […] Brett Blomme “was taken into custody by special agents with the state Division of Criminal Investigation,” the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported, citing a statement. Mayor Barrett said “The allegations are alarming,” and that “The reports of the arrest came as a complete surprise.”
For those who have been paying attention, such an arrest is far from a complete surprise. “Drag Queen Story Hour” — which the organization led by Bloome described as capturing “the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models” — is itself part of an open effort to sexualize children, exposing them to drastically inappropriate scenarios and situations. One such shocking example was reported by the Daily Wire in October 2019, after photos showed . . .

Meagher: When Transgenderism Discards My Daughter, I Will Still Be Here For Her
“Love, not hate. Please read this article and educate yourself.” Someone sent this comment to me – someone who doesn’t know my heart, my education level about transgender activism, or how it’s affected my life. To him, it’s simple: everyone needs respect, validation, acceptance, and love. No one should be bullied or discriminated against. […] He even feels justified in calling me names, shaming me, and physically threatening me unless I agree with him. . . . Let me tell you about my daughter. She is smart, funny, creative, artistic, amazing. I would give my life for her. But now she won’t talk to me, and I’m powerless to change that. She has a new name, one I’ve never called her. I’m no longer allowed to call her by the name we gave her on the day she was born, the name I sang to her in the night and taught her to print in big childish letters. It’s a beautiful name. But now it’s considered an act of hatred and bullying to use it.
She has a new voice, which I’ve only heard once. It was a stranger’s voice, deep yet familiar. When I heard it I knew she must be on testosterone. I realized then I will never hear my daughter’s voice again. Even if she stops taking testosterone, many of the effects will be permanent, . . . Most painfully, we have a new type of relationship. I’ve been invested in this issue for quite some time, and even more so since this insidious mania took my daughter. I’ve been deeply concerned by the explosive cultural shift on gender, and made that concern known. My daughter knows this, so perhaps I should have expected her letter.
At first I didn’t even realize it was from her. I thought it was a thank you note or a note from a friend. I opened it up and slowly digested its words: . . .

THE DEMOCRAT PARTY’S WAR ON WOMEN

O’Neil: The Real Reason Why 172 Republicans Opposed the Violence Against Women Act
On Wednesday, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), a 1994 law that protects and provides resources for victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence. The bill passed 244-172. While 29 Republicans joined 215 Democrats in voting for the bill, all the “no” votes came from Republicans. As usual, leftists crowed about the vote, suggesting that Republicans actually support sexual violence. In reality, this version of the law contained two measures that have less to do with combatting sexual violence and more to do with restricting gun rights and supporting transgender identity.
